What We Believe

God's Plan of Salvation

In order to receive personal salvation from God, an individual must enter into a covenant relationship with Him. God has set the terms of this covenant in New Testament Scripture, they are:

BELIEF: John 3:16; John 20:31; Acts 16:31

FAITH: Hebrews 11:6; Hebrews 4:2; Romans 3:21,22; James 2:17

REPENTANCE: Acts 2:38; 2 Timothy 2:25,26; Acts 17:30; Acts 3:19

CONFESSION: Matthew 10:32,33; Romans 10:9,10

The believer is then to enter into baptism as Scripture plainly teaches.

BAPTISM: 1 Corinthians 15:3,4; Matthew 28:18-20; Romans 6:3,4; 1 Peter 3:21; Galatians 3:27; Acts 22:16; Romans 6:5

Study each of these Scriptures praying that God will grant you a full understanding of their meaning.

God: God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He exists eternally in three personages: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. There is one God revealed to us in three distinct persons. (Genesis 1:1, 26, 27; Genesis 3:22; Psalm 90:2; 2nd Corinthians 13:14; 1 Peter 1:2)

Jesus Christ: Jesus is fully God and fully man. He lived a sinless human life and offered himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to fulfill God's will and to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to heaven’s glory and will return again someday to call us home. (Isaiah 9:6; Matthew 1:22-23; John 1:1-5; John 14:10-30; Acts 1:9-11; Romans 1:3-4; 1st Corinthians 15:3-4; 1 Timothy 6:14-15; Titus 2:13; Hebrews 4:14-15)

Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make us aware of our need for Jesus Christ. He lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation and provides Christians with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. We seek to live under His control daily. (2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13, 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; 1st Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13-14; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 5:18)

The Bible: The Bible is God’s inerrant Word to all people, written by human authors under the divine guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is accurate and without error and is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. (2nd Timothy 1:13; 2nd Timothy 3:16; 2nd Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 12:6; Psalm 119:105, Psalm 105:160; Proverbs 30:5)

People: People are made in the image of God to be like him in character. People are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although people have tremendous potential for good, they are marred by disobedience toward God called sin. This sin separates people from God. (Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1-2)

Salvation: Salvation is only by grace through the blood of Jesus Christ. It is a gift from God to all people. We can never make up for our sins by self-improvement or good works. One receives salvation by putting faith in Christ, repenting of sin, and confessing Christ. After one believes, the Bible commands every believer in Christ to be baptized by immersion. (John 14:6; Acts 2:38-39; Acts 3:19; Romans 5:1-2; Romans 6:4-5; Romans 6:23; Galatians 3:26-27; Ephesians 1:12; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; 1 Peter 3:21)

Eternity: Eternity is how long we were created to exist with God. We will either exist eternally separated from God by our sin or in union with God through the salvation He freely offers. To be eternally separated from God is hell. Heaven and hell are literal places of eternal existence and are the only two options for eternity. (John 3:16; Romans 6:23; 1st John 2:25, 1st John 5:11-13; Revelation 20:15)

The Church: The Church is the body of Christ on earth. It exists to communicate the good news of new life in Jesus Christ to the world, to teach his followers to obey his teachings, and to equip his followers for ministry. The church is made up of those who have placed their faith in Christ. (Matthew 28:19-20; John 10:10; 1st Corinthians 12:27; Ephesians 4:11-14)
